COVID-19 General Questions

What do I do if I have or think I have COVID-19?


If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, do not come to campus. Information on symptoms, who can be tested, how to self-isolate and information on the COVID-19 vaccine can be found here. It is important that you always follow Nova Scotia Public Health guidelines.




What if I don’t feel safe coming to campus?


The health and safety of the BTAC community remains our top priority. Details about the health and safety measures we have in place on campus can be found here (will send you pdf of safety measures).

If you have program-specific concerns, please contact your Instructor.




What safety measures are in place on campus?


During the course of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we put a “COVID-19 Safety and Prevention Measures” (link to pdf) together to outline the special measures that are in place to protect Building Trades Advancement College students, instructors, their families and the community from possible infection and illness.




Are there water refill stations available?


Students, and anyone else accessing campus, should bring a reusable water bottle with them. Water bottle filling stations are available.

How do I apply to a program?


Visit our Programs page or press the “Apply” button found in the top right-hand of the website. Once the short contact form is submitted, a member of our Recruitment Team will be in touch within 24 hours.




Is there a fee to apply to a program?


Yes, there can be. Our Recruitment Team will specify whether this is applicable to the program you’ve chosen during the application process




What are your admission requirements?


Applicants must have a grade 12 or equivalent. Those who do not may still apply and be considered on an individual basis. Please note; some programs may have aptitude testing prior to acceptance.




Do you have a campus tour program? How does it work?


Yes, if you are interested in a tour of any of BTAC’s campuses, please contact admin@btacns.com for more information.




Is there financial support available?


Yes, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Federal and Provincial government through the Canada Student Loans and Nova Scotia Student Loans programs.

Student Lines of Credit are also available through East Coast Credit Union. Check out their brochure for additional information.  




Is there parking available?


Yes, there is free parking available at all of BTAC’s campuses.
