IBEW 625 Electrical Workers
Campus

IBEW offers a Pre-Apprenticeship Program that leads to Level One electrician theory accreditation with credit for 900 practical hours toward employment as an apprentice. You'll receive technical training and a work term.

Ironworkers Local 752
Training Centre

Ironworkers fall under three categories: Generalists, Structural/Ornamental, and Reinforcing. They fabricate and construct steel buildings, bridges, ornamental ironwork, and more and reinforce concrete structures. Ironworkers Local 752 delivers Apprenticeship Level Training for the Province of Nova Scotia.

Painters & Allied Trades DC39
Training Centre

The Finishing Trades include: Industrial & Commercial Painters; Glaziers & Glass Workers; Drywall Finishers; Fire Proofing Applicators; Wall Covering Installers; Floor Covering Installers; Asbestos Abatement. The Finishing Trades work on interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures, often at heights.

Training Centre

Construction Craft Workers and Labourers prepare and clean up jobsites, move materials and equipment, perform cement finishing, demolition, concrete sawing & drilling, and more. Labourers Local 615 delivers Apprenticeship Level Training for the Province of Nova Scotia, along with skills upgrading and Dispatch Ready Training.

Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 56
Training Centre

This 11,000 square foot Training Centre includes an 18-booth welding shop, a pipe/plumbing and sprinkler training area, a residential mock module for in-floor heat installation, as well as plumbing and fixture installation training. Pipe Trades workers lay, fabricate, maintain, install, repair, and service equipment and piping systems.

Heat & Frost Insulators work with different insulation materials to prevent the passage of heat, cold, moisture, vapour, sound, and fire. Insulators Local 116 provides Apprenticeship Level Training for the Province of Nova Scotia.

Institute of Nova Scotia

Operating Engineers work in general construction, pipeline, mining, and more. The Operating Engineers Training Institute of

Nova Scotia includes a 550-acre facility and multimillion dollar fleet of training equipment, mobile and crawling cranes, and heavy duty earth movers. Courses run throughout the year.

Sheet Metal Workers
& Roofers - Halifax

Sheet Metal Workers design, layout, measure, fabricate, and assemble or repair sheet metal. They use laser or plasma cutting equipment to cut, drill, punch, and shape sheet metal products.

Roofers install a waterproof membrane on buildings with a flat or sloped deck consisting of wood, steel, or concrete.
